Pepper and Me

Ragsy was my first dog after 20 years of not having a dog. I guess I just didn’t want my heart broken again. But Ragsy stayed with me for 15-1/2 years. She understood everything I said and knew my heart. A picture appeared on the internet a few weeks after she passed of a dog that looked exactly like her in a kill shelter in San Bernardino. I begged one of my friends down there to go to the shelter and retrieve that dog. Unfortunately we had to wait about 10 days because they had to try to find his owner. During that time he got kennel cough and almost died. His name is Pepper and this is him. He was 9 when we got him and he lived with me for eight more years. This picture is tribute to all those wonderful animals past and present that I have loved. All in pastel on Lux Archival paper.
