My dentist in California has examining rooms that look out onto a courtyard, where this Benjamina Ficus has grown probably 60 feet high. When last I was there, he told me they were going to have to cut it down. We both lamented on that fact and how beautiful the tree is. I had been going to that dentist for 25 years and remembered when the tree was only a few feet tall. It’s a shame for it to go without anything to remember it by, so I created this image in remembrance of its beauty. I doubt I did it justice. 11 x 14 framed to 16 x 20. It’s on pastelmat paper. Note: Since I completed this painting and posted it, the tree was removed. This is now our true Memory Tree.
