Colorado Beauty

I suppose this should rightly be in the “Experimental” catalogue. This started as a pastel painting on very large pastel paper. Eventually, I cut it down to something of the size you see here. Then I photographed it and printed it on my Epson large format printer 13 x 19 on watercolor paper. Eventually I wanted to frame it as an 11 x 14 picture, and I wanted to add more detail to it since the original was basically unfinished. So I took out my soft pastels and panpastels and finished it. This is a present for my daughter, who this is of, for Christmas. The photograph from which this originated was taken by me on our trip to Aspen, Colorado in 1970.
