This started out as a textured (modeling compound) painting: then, using black gesso, metallic paints and insanity, I finally landed here, on the dark shores of some Southern bayou, waiting for the alligators to show themselves, and being besieged by the dancing light of fireflies. Was I finished? No, probably not, but I forced myself to stop. The painting changes its face in different lights and is virtually impossible to photograph, and don’t beat me up about accuracy. Remember it is an abstract fantasy landscape borne out of memory and imagination. Accuracy is not a factor here. It is on a gallery canvas so framing is only optional. Fascinating how it changes all its colors depending upon the light that falls on it.
