Self Portrait

My daughter took some pictures of a white lion on one of her many trips. I was caught by the beauty of these creatures and had to paint them. This is the first of several. I had been trying to understand cubism when I started this pastel painting, and thought if I were a white lion in captivity what would I do with my time—paint a self portrait of myself in cubism of course.
